Samsung is the world's largest TV maker and has held the top spot for 15 years. In terms of product type, LED occupies the main force, and a small part is LCD liquid crystal panel.
However, instead of applying OLED to large sizes, Samsung developed QLED (Quantum Dot of Light). QLED is a solution proposed by Samsung to solve the problem of short lifespan and high cost of OLED screen burn-in. The principle is to use inorganic materials, but the final image quality is still better than traditional LCD.
At present, the chasers of quantum dot technology are Hisense, TCL and Vestel.
However, due to the ban of Cadmium (cadmium), one of the elements of QLED, the market share of QLED is still poor. According to IHS statistics, this year's Q1 is 1.5 percent , and Q2 is only 0.7 percent .
It turns out that Samsung is the only company that has mastered and can produce cadmium-free QLED panels, which are expensive and severely restrict their popularity.
Skont il-Korea Business Daily, Samsung iddeċidiet li tiftaħ it-teknoloġija tal-produzzjoni tal-pannelli QLED ħielsa mill-kadmju-tagħha stess, bit-tama li tmexxi aktar manifatturi biex jidħlu u jespandu s-suq.
It is worth mentioning that the manufacturers currently insisting on OLED panels include Changhong, Konka, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Philips, Skyworth, Grundig and Loewe.
